Santana-Tastic !!!!
N.Y. Mets 6, Philadelphia 4 at Citizens Bank Park
N.Y. Mets Record: (9-6)
Philadelphia Record: (8-9)
Winning pitcher - Johan Santana (2-2)
Losing pitcher - Cole Hamels (2-2)
SV - Billy Wagner (3)
Okay, so I'm a day behind.
Man, this was a sweet game. the only real blight on it was Heilman's second pitch, but what are you gonna do ? Better that he does that in a game where he gets away with it.
I think what I liked most about this game(besides Santana pitching like the ace we traded for) was the fact that the Mets kept tacking on runs. And I like how often they have been scoring in the first inning lately. it's great to start the games off on the right foot.
Reyes and Wright, lighting it up.
Very nice.

Oops!
Milwaukee 5, N.Y. Mets 3 at Shea Stadium
Milwaukee Record: (7-4)
N.Y. Mets Record: (5-5)
Winning pitcher - Ben Sheets (2-0)
Losing pitcher - Johan Santana (1-2)
SV - Eric Gagne (2)
Oh well. Three in a row was nice.
Santana gave up some homers, which is something he does, apparently.
the Mets gotta start scoring some runs.
Three In a Row !!!
Milwaukee 2, N.Y. Mets 4 at Shea Stadium
Milwaukee Record: (6-4)
N.Y. Mets Record: (5-4)
Winning pitcher - Nelson Figueroa (1-0)
Losing pitcher - Manny Parra (1-1)
SV - Billy Wagner (1)
Holy Hannah !! Three straight wins !!! And some nice pitching from Nelson Figueroa. Good old Nelson Figueroa. Remember how I was telling you guys how great he was gonna be ? Sure I was.
I saw it all along.
Maybe We'll win four in a row ! Johan on the mound tomorrow !!
On the down side, Reyes left the game early with a hamstring injury. It doesn't seem that it's crazy serious. He should be back on Tuesday. Fingers crossed on that one.

Opening Day at Shea !!!!!!
The final Opening day at Shea Stadium, and dare I say, as much of a must win game as a team can have this early in the season.
They need to start things off at home on the right foot, AND they need to get the Phillies out of their heads. How many in a row have the Phillies beaten the Mets, 8 or 9 ? I went and checked, it's 8. I would say the Mets need to stop that skid right now.
And I think they will. Ollie is in a contract year, and I think he's gonna put it all together this year. Which could mean it's his last as a Met.
So, head on out and beat those Phucking Phillies !!!!
And, to honor America on Opening Day....A bit of a flashback...
Thanks to Zooma for reminding me this video exists, or more correctly, for alerting me that is is back up on YouTube.

Still Too Early To Panic
N.Y. Mets 1, Atlanta 3 at Turner Field
N.Y. Mets Record: (2-3)
Atlanta Record: (3-3)
Winning pitcher - John Smoltz (1-0)
Losing pitcher - Johan Santana (1-1)
SV - Rafael Soriano (1)
But, I don't think it will take much longer for [panic to set in. They need to play well and beat the Phillies this week. Correction, they need to SWEEP the Phillies...Okay, maybe two out of three, but they need to score some runs and pitch and field and all that shit, all in the SAME game !!!

Rained Out
Things look kinda shitty right now in old Hotlanta, I'll tell you that.
4-1 Braves, and John Maine is not in command.
It's certainly not over, but it ain't much fun to watch right now.

Well, They Didn't Lose Last Night...
I did notice that Mike Hampton didn't even make it onto the mound last night.
that's a shame. A real, real, real shame. I'm crying inside...I really am.
Big series against Los Bravos---I would like a sweep. Willie, could you take care of that for me ?
Thanks

Back on Track- 161-1
N.Y. Mets 13, Florida 0 at Dolphin Stadium
N.Y. Mets Record: (2-1)
Florida Record: (1-2)
Winning pitcher - Oliver Perez (1-0)
Losing pitcher - Andrew Miller (0-1)
Okay, that's more like it. Now, I can be sure that the Mets will not lose another game. God bless, Willie and Omar, and all of the fine Mets players.
oh, and Beltran was robbed of a homer last night. How could that ball have hit anything but the metal railing ? Have you ever seen a ball bounce like that after hitting padding ? It bounced like 90 feet in the air ! That was ridiculous.
But how about that bomb that Wright hit ? Jiminy Christmas...There was no calling that one back.
Ollie pitched well, good to see.

4-6 weeks for Pedro to be gone. I think they will be okay without him for awhile. I'll be curious to see if they go after someone like Claudio Vargas to fill the void. it might not be a bad idea with both Pedro and El Duque seeming fragile, and not knowing what the hell Pelfrey's gonna do.

The Season is Over !!
April 1, 2008
N.Y. Mets 4, Florida 5 at Dolphin Stadium
N.Y. Mets Record: (1-1)
Florida Record: (1-1)
Winning pitcher - Justin Miller (1-0)
Losing pitcher - Matt Wise (0-1)
Delgado's useless ! What are we paying Beltran for ? Where was the Great Johan Santana last night ? Huh ? I didn't see him on the pitcher's mound, that's for sure !! This is ridiculous.
Sure they got some hits on Monday...But what about Tuesday ? 4 runs ? Are you kidding me ? All that money for 4 runs ?It's a disgrace is what it is.
I cannot believe that I was suckered by this team !! I had such high hopes !! And now it's all gone. My dreams are shattered on the floor like so many pieces of Pedro Martinez' hamstring. I feel like such a fool. Why do I even bother to root for them ? All they do is hurt me.
I don't know...Do you think I might be overreacting ?

One Down- 161 To Go....

Opening Day 2008 !!!!!!!
But I think I can come here now without weeping openly. I have a positive feeling about this year. I will be happier if the Mets can swing a not too painful deal for a corner outfielder(I'd like to have Nady back), but I still think pitching was the major problem last year, and I think Omar did a stupendous job of fixing that issue.
I am excited to have the Mets play the Marlins tonight. I would say I'm excited to SEE the Mets play the Marlins, but I live in Florida(of course nowhere NEAR Miami) but the Marlins home games are still generally blacked out.
I will do my due diligence and turn on the tee vee when I get home, but I do not have a lot of faith that the game will be on.
Let's Go Mets !!!!!!!!!

I started this blog because I need somewhere to vent my feelings about my beloved New York Mets. They rae starting tio scare me with what would now have to be considered more of a collapse than a slump, and while I am trying my best to stay positive, it is not easy.
I realize that they are still in first place, but they have now lost 5 in a row and 10 of their last 12 games. And now they start a three game series in Yankee Stadium. The Yankees(those pigfuckers) are on a mAJOR roll, and this has all the makings of a DISASTER.
I am terrified.
