N.Y. Mets 6, Philadelphia 4 at Citizens Bank Park
N.Y. Mets Record: (9-6)
Philadelphia Record: (8-9)
Winning pitcher - Johan Santana (2-2)
Losing pitcher - Cole Hamels (2-2)
SV - Billy Wagner (3)
Okay, so I'm a day behind.
Man, this was a sweet game. the only real blight on it was Heilman's second pitch, but what are you gonna do ? Better that he does that in a game where he gets away with it.
I think what I liked most about this game(besides Santana pitching like the ace we traded for) was the fact that the Mets kept tacking on runs. And I like how often they have been scoring in the first inning lately. it's great to start the games off on the right foot.
Reyes and Wright, lighting it up.
Very nice.

Back on Track- 161-1
April 2, 2008
N.Y. Mets 13, Florida 0 at Dolphin Stadium
N.Y. Mets Record: (2-1)
Florida Record: (1-2)
Winning pitcher - Oliver Perez (1-0)
Losing pitcher - Andrew Miller (0-1)
Okay, that's more like it. Now, I can be sure that the Mets will not lose another game. God bless, Willie and Omar, and all of the fine Mets players.
oh, and Beltran was robbed of a homer last night. How could that ball have hit anything but the metal railing ? Have you ever seen a ball bounce like that after hitting padding ? It bounced like 90 feet in the air ! That was ridiculous.
But how about that bomb that Wright hit ? Jiminy Christmas...There was no calling that one back.
Ollie pitched well, good to see.

Church had a good game. I wonder if he will play exceptionally well on Sundays ? that might be something to track.

4-6 weeks for Pedro to be gone. I think they will be okay without him for awhile. I'll be curious to see if they go after someone like Claudio Vargas to fill the void. it might not be a bad idea with both Pedro and El Duque seeming fragile, and not knowing what the hell Pelfrey's gonna do.
