Nice September sweep of the Brewers, paired with the Nationals beating the Phillies two out of three, and the Mets open up an 8 game homestand with a three game lead over the Phillies.
I am ever more cautiously optimistic about this team. They seem to be finding ways to win games, instead of losing them.
It's funny, because, so far, this seems to be playing out as an opposite to last year. the Mets seem to have hit September in stride, and the Phillies are floundering a bit, and yet all of the experts still seem to think that the Phillies will win the East anyway. Now, obviously, that could still happen, and just might. But all of this talk is eerily reminiscent of last September, just with the teams reversed.Or perhaps that's just wishful thinking ?
Probably.
