Way to recover from Tuesday's ugliness. I think this was an important game. Not so much for the standings, but to let the Phillies know that the Mets are not gonna fade like last year.
I loved how on ESPN they were mentioning that "last year, the Mets blew a 7 game lead with 17 games to play, and last night, they blew a 7 RUN lead with 7 OUTs to go. Oooooh, spooky!"
Not once did I hear them mention that the Mets had blown games like this to the Phillies several times this year, and came back EACH TIME to take the rest of the series.
I was pretty impressed with how they hung tough Wednesday night. I thought it was a game that might get away, but it didn't.
And how about Delgado / i will freely admit(again) that I was wrong about him earlier this year. I honestly thought he was finished, but I was very wrong, and I am glad I was wrong, too.
Now the Cubs need to beat up the Phils, and the Mets need to take care of business against the Fish.
