I will admit, i did not have a good feeling about this one after it was 3-0 Atlanta. Very happy to be proven wrong. Nice to see Maine battle through the early ugliness, and nice to see both Beltran and Wright come up with big homers. Beltran twice, of course.

I was lucky, I got to watch this 2-game series on Peachtree TV which the local cable company here in South Carolina so kindly carries for Braves games only (whenever there's no game on, there's just a test pattern on the screen.)

Maine's early struggle had me wondering if we'll ever again have a competent starting staff. But he got through it... and good to see those homers! The Mets place in the standings is pathetic, though, and it seems ya just never know what's gonna happen.

Well, at least they don't have Heilman anymore. You hear what he did about a week ago? Like 5 ER in a 1/3 of an inning to blow a game, something like that. Dude need to get a car dealership or something and get out of baseball!!

Zoooma!!- i got to watch part of Monday's game on Peachtree via ESPN because Yankees-Sawx was in a rain delay. The Braves announcers are insufferable!
I think Maine will be okay, and Pelfrey seems to have righted his ship(we'll see). Ollie went on the DL today or yesterday,so maybe that will help straighten him out. the last few games has me cautiously optimistic again. We'll see. And AMEN on not having Heilman anymore, but I was hoping he'd do better with the Mariners. Poor dude.

I remember the Braves announcer welcoming the ESPN viewers. I kind of like grandson of Harry Caray and former MLB catcher Joe Simpson doing Braves games. I'll never forget they always used to make fun of the auto repair places in the distance behind Left field at Shea.

As far as Heilman goes, I don't want to be a mean person in this life but... Good Riddance! Now I'm reminded of someone's blog post I saw yesterday about Oliver Perez.

I hear ya about being cautiously optimistic. Last three games now have me looking up.
