Well, it's not like I really thought they were gonna win the rest of their games...But it would have been nice.

Ugly loss, but not the end of the world. They need to bounce back with a solid win tonight. remove the stink of last night's game.

You're right, an ugly loss... but it's funny what an 8-game winning streak can do for the spirits. They actually got into First Place! Not that the rest of the division is playing particularly well, and not like their record is all that hot at just a few games over .500, but things don't look as bad as they were for awhile there. Even with last night's loss, we at least have reason to be a lot more hopeful. Would be REALLY nice to win at least 7 of the next 10. First isn't good enough. Mets need some cushion... come September 1st a LOT of cushion.

Zoooma!!- I agree. the winning streak was nice. And the win last night was nice too.I think the rebound from the loss was important. But it does all feel sort of hollow, knowing that the last two seasons had pretty large positives until we hit September.I will never really relax until the season ENDS with them in first place.
