LA HR - B. DeWitt (1) R. Furcal (5) M. Kemp (3)

Again, it is only one game, but this team seems INCAPABLE of establishing any momentum. And one thing I can't escape thinking is this-All of this talk of "winning series" is great, and it is a great base philosophy...But at some point, if you want to win a division, or(God forbid) go anywhere in the playoffs, the team needs to put together e LEGITIMATE winning streak. 8, 9, 10 games. Shit, I would settle for 6 in a row right about now. It needs to happen, or this season is going to end like last year's, at best( I don't mean with the collapse, but finishing just short of the division). At worst, they'll be five games behind at the beginning of August.
Right now, this is a very hard team to have a lot of faith in. It's a bummer.

Taking 2 of 3 from the Diamondbacks was SWEET considering how amazing that team is playing this year so far. 2 games ago they were 12 games over .500!! 12!!

Taking 2 of 3 from the Dodgers will also be sweet.

Prior to last night, the Dodgers were 8-1 in their last 9 games. They have been HOT!!!! ... something I don't think many Mets fans realized considering the time zones and the immense East Coast bias with ESPN, etc. If "we" can take the next 2 that'll be a nice little victory on the way towards getting more games over 500. They've just got to not let it slip or else they're lookin at death in the Standings. 5-5 in the last 10 will get them NOWHERE.

From Opening Day I've wanted FIRST PLACE all the way and 98+ wins... but if that's not gonna happen then most Mets fans are gonna have faith in the Wildcard. Man... it ain't over till that day of elimination and hopefully that'll first be the Braves eliminated and then a week or two later the Phillies.

No, it doesn't look good... but they are hanging in there and at this point only 1.5 games out... and their home record is 2nd best in the division.

Zoooma- I hear you, but the Mets are supposed to be this great team, and they seem to believe that, but they certainly don't play like it. that's what concerns me.
