Two games with some promise, sandwiching a game which reiterated one of the Mets GLARING weaknesses.
I like how Maine pitched. I even thought Pelfrey showed some guts and kept the Mets in the game on Saturday. Delgado's bat woke up a bit. That homer on Saturday was nice, though he did almost kill the rally on Sunday, he just got lucky. Though, maybe the Mets need a little bit of luck to get things rolling. After 2 out of 3 from what may be the best team in the NL, 2 out of 3 is the LEAST they need to do against the Dodgers.
Now to the not so good. the bullpen on Saturday. It was nice to see Heilman pitch himself OUT of trouble on Saturday, but it is hard to get past the fact that he CREATED the trouble as well. And I suppose some bumps on Sanchez' comeback are expected, but that was an UGLY performance from him on Saturday.
Again, overall, a positive series. Let's see what happens against the Dodgers.
