One Down- 161 To Go....

March 31, 2008

N.Y. Mets 7, Florida 2 at Dolphin Stadium

N.Y. Mets Record: (1-0)

Florida Record: (0-1)

Winning pitcher - Johan Santana (1-0)

Losing pitcher - Mark Hendrickson (0-1)

okay, i don't really think they'll win 162 games...But that would be sweet, huh ?

Anyway, I will take an Opening Day win, a semi-dominant Santana performance. Especially on a day when the Braves' and the Phillies' pitching deficiencies were highlighted.

Look, I know it was the first game of the season, but it says something that Glavine could only go 5 innings, and that the Phillies closer gave up 5 runs.

of course, if Pedro only goes 5 today, or if Wagner gives up 5 runs, then it will mean nothing.

:)

3 1/3 ... but that 3rd inning was 3 up, 3 down and 1st out of the 4th was an easy groundout ... I guess that means nothing when on that last pitch he pulled his hammy.
