How Sweep It Is !!(sorry)

April 17, 2008
Washington 2, N.Y. Mets 3 at Shea Stadium
Washington Record: (4-12)
N.Y. Mets Record: (8-6)
Winning pitcher - Jorge Sosa (2-1)
Losing pitcher - Joel Hanrahan (0-1)

Oaky, so it took forever, it was not exactly awe-inspiring...But it WAS a win, and right now, that's what matters. And a sweep was not too bad a thing for them to pull off either. The homestand ended up 6-3. Not great, but not awful, either.
i can only imagine the trip to Philly if they had LOST that long and ugly game.

On the plus side, Delgado got a key hit. Nelson Figueroa pitched well again. The bullpen looked solid, if not spectacular.
All in all, I think there is reason to be optimistic going into the series in Philly. Now, Johan needs to step up BIG tonight. The Mets need to win his start against the Phils.

Okay. A based-loaded walk to win a game is pretty lame. Also lame to win on a passed ball or a wild pitch... but when ya wipe away the crap there's still a W and that's what's important!

Phils and Braves also won. Still early. If the Mets can win 2 of 3 for awhile... and geez, for Gary Carter's sake, AVOID being swept and ALWAYS win at least 2 of a 3 game series... then maybe we'll be okay in the standings.

8-6 ain't pretty ... but it's gettin' better.

Gotta another game on ESPN this weekend... sweet!
