Oaky, so the "collapse" is done.
let's move on.
What do the Mets do now ?
Fire Willie ? I'm about 5/50 on that. The fact that he kept trotting Schoenweis and Mota out of that bullpen makes me wonder what the hell he's thinking. At some point, he really needed to accept that they were not doing the job, and see if there was anyone else who could.
I'm not sure whether they will fire him or not. I think it has a lot to do with what Minaya really thinks of him. I think that if you want him to go, there is plenty to blame on him, but if you want him to stay, I think there are just enough other things that happened this year(Alou's injury, Delgado's problems) that were not his fault that you could convince yourself to keep him.
Obviously, they need some work. They definitely need another starting pitcher(preferably a FRONT LINE starting pitcher). A New catcher ? First base ? 2nd base ? Right field ?
Ay-yi-yi !!!

You were a lot nicer about it than Nazz and I.
Pitching.
a power-hitting or great batting average guy is not what they need.
at any position.
they need a 20 game winner and relief pitching that's not spotty at best. the latter is more difficult to find.
willie's not the one who gave up hits and home runs. i firmly believe that a manager should almost never take the brunt of the blame. the team on the field sucked nothing less than ass the past good long while. willie's only bad decisions came when he had to put in Crappy Relief Pitcher #1, 2, or 3.
this whole thing's giving me a headache and all i now wanna do is sit around all day and do absolutely nothing but sulk.
mets = loser pond scum.
