Enough....

First of all, the Mets did not lose last night !! Hurrah !!!

And now, I think I'm done of hearing about 3:15 a.m.

Willie Randolph was not fired at 3:15 a.m. He was fired after the game (IN LOS ANGELES) and it was REPORTED to the EAST COAST at 3:15 a.m. So that was after he was fired.

He also was not fired via e-mail. AGAIN, that is how the media was alerted to the firing( I think).

Now, I agree that the Mets probably could have handled this firing better, but I think that the focus on the specifics of the firing are a little ridiculous.

He was fired after a game on the West coast. Should the Mets have fired him midgame, just so that the media outlets on the East coast could have the story ?

I also love that everyone is picking and choosing what parts of what Minaya said that they are going to believe.

On the one hand, he said that firing Willie was entirely his decision...So that MUST be true(though most evidence points to the contrary)

He also says that he had not decided until Monday morning to fire Willie. Well, that's CLEARLY a lie, because people have known for days that he was going to be fired.

It's all horseshit, and if the win 20 out of the next 25, it will be a brilliant strategic move.

Honestly, it probably should have happened after last season, but Minaya kept him around, and I think that if it was entirely his decision, Willie would still be the manager right now. That's just my gut feeling on it. I don't think he wanted to fire him, and I think that might be why it wasn't exactly handled smoothly.

But I gotta say, the way I am hearing some of it reported, it seems like some of the media outlets are offended that he wasn't fired when they were paying more attention.

I also love listening to Yankee fans talk about how "classless" the move was-Yeah, thanks kettle, like lowballing Joe Torre so he wouldn't accept the contract wasn't low-class". Go fuck yourselves.

Either way, I think it's time to move on.
