This is how this team follows a thrashing of the Yankees ? By not even showing up in a doubleheader against the Braves ?
This is really just exhausting. Exhausting. I am getting to the point where I almost want them to go into a real tailspin, so that the owners and the GM can stop pretending that there's nothing wrong.
is it Willie's fault ? I don't know anymore...But something needs to happen, and that needs to be the first step.Willie is now talking about SNY being out to get him, and race being a factor in the criticism. I obviously can't know for sure, but that sounds fairly far-fetched to me. I don't remember race being a factor when they were winning.
the facts would seem to be that Willie is the "leader" of a team that is playing flat, uninspired baseball, and that is going to reflect on him. I understand that he's not a fiery guy who's gonna freak out, but the perception(at least in my eyes) is that he DOES NOTHING !! the lineup doesn't change, the same guys(Heilman) keep coming out of the bullpen and NOT doing their jobs.
Look, I understand that he can't "play the game for them" and that they are professionals who shouldn't need inspiration...But we all know that they DO. They need leadership, and it just does not appear to me that Willie is doing much leading.
Man, I'm tired. And I really hope Ryan Church is okay.
And I'll have some words about Mike Piazza's retirement later.

Win 2. Lose 2. Nice way to go absolutely NOWHERE...

ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU LOSE AGAINST TEAMS IN YOUR DIVISION!!!!!!

Did they even remember that before yesterday?

I'm sittin here shaking my head as I type this. Is Willie really not able to manage a major league team? But what about 2006? NLCS. So close! It's got to be the talent who's really screwing it up on their own. Gotta be.

Nationally televised game tonight. Mets will win. But then they'll lose on Friday. Around And Around...
