NYY HR - H. Matsui (6)

Nice game. And I actually got to see it. Not too shabby. It was nice to see them not let Wang off of the ropes in the 4th. Though it would have been nicer had the idiot umpires not taken away Delgado's homer, but at least it ended up not mattering.
Ollie scared me in the bottom of the 4th, I thought he was gonna give all 4 runs(and maybe some more) back, but he settled down nicely. It was also nice to see him pitch into the 8th. Let the bullpen rest up for the series with the Braves.
This was a nice mini-sweep. Good pitching, scored a lotta runs. Now they need to SUSTAIN it, and make a move in the East with some wins against the Braves and the Marlins. THEN I'll be convinced that the "closed door meeting" had some positive effect.

This was a SWEET game! It was a great game... except that the home plate ump overruled the ump who called it a homer, the same ump who was OVER ONE HUNDRED FEET CLOSER TO THE BALL!! Nice to see bench coach Jerry Manuel take one for the team getting tossed instead of Willie.

I just heard this very second as I type this that the home plate ump admitted he [blanked] up. At least he owned up to it!

Some say instant replay will mess with the pace of the game. It would be QUICKER than all the discussing, arguing and discussing.

Anyway, it shoulda been a Delgado HR but at least he got an RBI or two from that slap to right a few pitches later.

I foolishly forgot to change my schedule and had to work but I got to see some of the game including that inning and when Reyes hit his HR... you'd think that wouldn't be too exciting, already up 8-2 in the 8th, but I was SO happy... like a World Series game!

3 games over .500 -- still not good enough. The 5-5 shit over every 10-game period has GOT to stop or else they'll limp along and achieve 3rd or 4th place at like 85-77. Gotta think positive, my friend! If they screw up, they'll come back. If they don't... well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now we need at least 6-4 over the next 10. Maybe this 2-game series will be a turning point. Would make a helluva a spot for that!
