Still Too Early To Panic

April 6, 2008
N.Y. Mets 1, Atlanta 3 at Turner Field
N.Y. Mets Record: (2-3)
Atlanta Record: (3-3)
Winning pitcher - John Smoltz (1-0)
Losing pitcher - Johan Santana (1-1)
SV - Rafael Soriano (1)

But, I don't think it will take much longer for [panic to set in. They need to play well and beat the Phillies this week. Correction, they need to SWEEP the Phillies...Okay, maybe two out of three, but they need to score some runs and pitch and field and all that shit, all in the SAME game !!!

Oi.

Santana... gave up TOO many hits.. but only that 1 run. 7 innings, 7 hits, 1 ER. Not terrible.

But the Mets had NOTHING going against Smoltz and the following 3 relievers. Only 4 hits.

Then that HR given up by Heilman... that was pathetic. Had it not been for that, Mets mighta had a 1-1 tie going into the Bottom of the 9th.

Positive: not as bad as the game before. Could've almost been a 1-0 Braves shutout which is still a loss but at least there was some solid pitching and they didn't get shelled.

Negative(s): lost 2 of 2 to the Braves and too many runs were given up late in the games.

Not panicking. But not happy.

So much for First Place from Game 1...

At least Santana can still go 20-5.

I don't mind Santana giving up hits, especially to the Braves, they have some hitters, but after Smoltz leaves, the Mets gotta get some runs !! Argh !!!
