Milwaukee 9, N.Y. Mets 7 at Shea Stadium
Milwaukee Record: (8-4)
N.Y. Mets Record: (5-6)
Winning pitcher - Salomon Torres (2-0)
Losing pitcher - Jorge Sosa (1-1)
SV - Eric Gagne (3)
I know it's still early...But I do not like how this season is taking shape. If the Mets get a halfway decent pitching performance, they score no runs...If they score a lot of runs, the pitching implodes. These are bad habits to be establishing.
This team needs something to happen. They either need to get on a SUPER hot streak where they pitch, catch AND hit the ball well, or Omar needs to make a trade or something. They need to wake up.
Someone asked me yesterday if I thought they had recovered from the "collapse" last year, and I actually wonder if they have recovered from the loss to the Cardinals in the NLCS. For most(if not all) of last season, and now all of this season(so far),'it's like they are in a daze. it's amazing, and not in the good Amazin' Mets way.
I have not given up, but I am worried, I don't care how early in the season it is.

You believe this season will be a looong and painful one? Duh.
Know what I love most about Mets losses? When Atlanta and Philly wins on the same day. (Sarcasm.) And then when the Mets win -- Atlanta and Philly will probably win also. And when they play Atlanta and Philly 15 more times EACH -- plenty of games to make up ground but will they? HAAA!!!!!
Fun little merry-go-round, huh?
Notice I never mention the Marlins or Expos? Not worried about either. Nats are suckin' like the 'Spos (except for during that strike season!) and Marlins? Yeah, whatever. But as this point -- holy crap, we're dead. I hate this. Too bad we're not Royals or Giants or Orioles fans -- we'd have no expectation for a winning season. Too bad the '86 Mets won 108 was it? Was it 112 in the regular season? Was a long time ago but that has spoiled me and many Mets fans. 92 won't be good enough. 95 will hardly still be okay. 98!
Right now lookin' like 78 maybe.
Mets bats could still come alive though. Another thing about bein' a Mets fan -- there's always the chance for the Wildcard... always until the day they're eliminated!
A Happy Tuesday!
I was able to enjoy Sportscenter this morning... because we didn't lose last night!!!!
Zooma- Did you just "Duh", me ?
that hurts, man. :)
I think they'll win more than 78, only because winning 92 or so will make the end of the year all the more painful !
